So I, uh, wrote a thing.

A few of the lines from this popped into my head last night and i just kinda crow-barred a few things together to make a whole piece. I have no idea who of the people i know might be in the intersection of sets to appreciate this from both sides, but I felt like sharing it. It is far from perfect, but inspiration hits me rarely, so when it does I figure i may as well roll with it.

Jabulani

'Twas summer and the slimy Gove
Did cut and gamble with the aid
All flimsy were the borrowed stoves
And the iphones upgrade

Beware of Sloven'an my son
That scores this night, the gloves can't catch
Beware the goal-net bird, and shun
the furious Rooney-smash!

He took his world cup ball in hand
Long time the goal mouth wide he sought
For free kick time on thirty-yard line
He stood o'er ball in thought

And, as with Beckham's form he struck
The goalkeeper, with hands aflame
Came whistling through, hit post tough luck
Rebounded whence it came!

One, two! One, two! And through ball flew
The world cup ball went slipper-slap
It hit the net, from 'pon his head
He ran cel'brating back

“And has thou beat Slovenia?
Come to my arm's Capello's boy!
You've saved the day! Vuvu! Zellay!”
He trump'ted in his joy.

'Twas summer and the slimy Gove
Did cut and gamble with the aid
All flimsy were the borrowed stoves
And the iphones upgrade
