The Tanglewood Longshanks overcame a beleagured Hate Machine side through a combination of early attrition (at one point in the first half only 7 of the Machine remained on the pitch) and exploitation of the resulting gaps in the opposing team's defence.
After a prolonged grind down one flank by the Machine ending in a touchdown for the Machine's saurus, the 'shanks scored a two-turner at the end of the first half and looked certain to score again in the second. However, a failed dodge at the wrong moment followed by an inspired play by the Machine's berserker put the ball deep in Lonshanks territory. Only a desperate dash by Illyrian Duskfall prevented the Machine going up 2-1. Seconds later the ball went from one end of the pitch to the other in one turn. The Machine's chaos warrior successfully sacked Tieran "Frosty" Frostbright, only to watch him leap up and into the endzone, receiving a last-minute pass from Vallyn "Hawkeye" Stormshadow.
The Machine put up an impressive defence in difficult circumstances, but in the end were too stretched by early casualties.
One other thing of note: Hawkeye must have learned some useful lessons from yesterday's match, as he picked up an AG-up. :D
